Marijuana seems like it has been around forever. It has changed as well as the attitudes about the use of marijuana. Do the risks out way the benefits of legalization? This course will look at the history of marijuana, the early movements, the change in potency and how the drug has affected society. There are new forms of marijuana and there are many groups trying to obtain a piece of the new market. This course will explore the history of use, the medical studies that shown both positive and negative effects of marijuana use as well as the many opinions about use verses abuse. It will examine the paraphernalia and the ways the drug is illegally marketed in society. It will provide firsthand experience into drug culture and physiological and psychological effects of the marijuana.
