Report Writing

This course will cover report writing from the perspective of the officer, the supervisor, and the public occupying the jury box. It will cover grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, and other areas critical to making police reports clear and concise. It will discuss the most common errors and how to avoid getting into bad report writing habits. Areas to be covered will include use of force, report construction, information gathering, and the positive and negative outcomes of a well written versus a poorly written report.
